Dr. Riedler was born and raised in San Diego. He graduated with high honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1975, with double majors in biology and physiological psychology and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He completed his dental training at the University of Southern California (USC), graduating in 1979. After school he had the opportunity to practice dentistry in Switzerland for three years, gaining extensive dental experience treating children and adults in public health settings. He and his family returned to San Diego and located his practice in North Park, where he has enjoyed treating patients since 1984.
Dr. Riedler's hobbies include racquetball, bicycling, travel, photography, and gardening. He also enjoys a broad range of music.
Dr. Riedler is very proud of his family. His wife, Valerie, trained as a speech pathologist and worked with young children for many years. His son, Dan, will enter business school in Pennsylvania in Fall, 2010. Marea, his first daughter, completed an interior design degree at the Art Institute in San Diego, and is employed by a design firm in Corona del Mar, California. His second daughter, Lani, will enter a master's program in marriage and family therapy at the University of San Francisco in Fall, 2010. All members of his family have enjoyed working in the dental office over the years.
